Senator Barrasso Re-Introduced Important Counseling Bill!

Last month, Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) reintroduced S. 1830, the “Seniors Mental Health Access Improvement Act of 2015.” This bill is identical to the bill introduced by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) in the last Congress and, if passed, would finally allow Licensed Professional Counselors to be reimbursed by Medicare. This is an issue that the counseling community has been fighting to resolve for over a decade. The bill is co-sponsored by Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) who has made mental health issues a priority during her time in the Senate.

ACA is asking all of its members to call on their U.S. Senators and ask them to co-sponsor this important piece of legislation. Visit our “Take Action” page here.
