Casper Partnership Provides Integrated Care
COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS OF CENTRAL WYOMING AND CENTRAL WYOMING COUNSELING CENTER PARTNER FOR INTEGRATED CARE
Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) is pleased to announce a partnership with Central Wyoming Counseling Center (Central) to promote integrated care within the community. Both nonprofit organizations have similar missions and visions as well as a sliding fee scale based on household income to enhance access to care.
The partnership began through the creation of a medical clinic located within the residential treatment facility at Central. CHCCW’s providers and support staff are seeing clients twice a week to provide general medical care for in-patients, and future plans are to expand this service to clients across the agency. Brandon Wardell, CEO of Central explains the effort, stating “the partnership between Central and Community Health addresses many of the health care needs in Natrona County by providing patients the opportunity to receive both primary and behavior health care at a single location through an integrated approach. ”
This partnership helps to bridge the gap between behavioral and physical health in Casper. With Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming’s strong medical abilities and Central’s strong behavioral abilities, both organizations can leverage our respective skill-sets. Through collaboration we can better identify, treat, and refer clients. “It is important for patients to have the right treatment at the right time, so they can see enhanced success” says Cole White, CEO of Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming.
“With the State of Wyoming having a strong focus on behavioral health issues such as opioid use, staggering suicide rates, and other serious mental health issues it’s a wonderful time for our organizations to be working together to ensure our residents have proper and complete care,” he added.
